Best fries I’ve ever tried!!!

I highly recommend this restaurant! Really good food at reasonable prices! If you want to get your sushi/seafood fix, this is thee place! I ordered the Sushi fries and they were amazing! The presentation of the food was also amazing!

I ve been wanting to go here for years since I heard about it from SoozietheFoodie on Johnnys house radio. I decided to go today for my 30th birthday and was NOT disappointed. I m incredibly impressed and can t wait for the Maitland location to open. Our server, Jess, was very understanding and accommodating with our 1 year old daughter. We tried to clean up, but she was very kind with assuring us that she was fine. I had the sushi donut and we had 2 rolls, along with a kids meal. For an appetizer, we had sushi fries. The donut is as a little hard to understand how to logistically eat it, but I broke it up and it was delicious. Very Instagram worthy :). Delicious, excellent service, and worth the wait!

This place has all the hype but after a few trips I dont think its worth the hype. The prices do not match the quality of the fish. The rolls are bland and the sushi rice hasnt been properly seasoned on multiple trips. They rely on the unorthodox menu items to attract patrons. Like sushi burger, sushi taco, sushi burrito, sushi fries, ect. The Bao Buns are just not good, undercooked and bad sauces. Overall, the service is great and the vibes are fun, but if youre looking for high quality sushi cuts you should look elsewhere.

As much as it pains me, I have to give WAVE 4 stars (instead of 5) for one reason which I will get to at the end. First - the atmosphere: They didnt have any inside dining available currently (maybe COVID?) which is a bit of a detractor because its currently about 87 degrees and humid with a 1-2mph breeze at times. Its not horrible but as soon as the sushi comes out, theres flies which is expected eating outdoors in the summer (basically) in Florida but wish it was by choice. Next - the service: Our server was great, very knowledgeable and able to recommend a few particular items after we told him were not big fans of salmon. The busser (assuming based on what I saw him doing) was awesome, full of personality and charm. He was the first one to greet us and made us feel very welcome which was great. Last - the food: We ordered A LOT! We were celebrating our 12th anniversary and weve been wanting to try WAVE for 2 years so that combined with the long drive made us VERY Hungry. Appetizer - We ordered the Sushi Fries, crinkle cut fries with togarashi powder, spicy krab salad, green onions & tobiko then topped with spicy mayo and eel sauce. My wife was very nervous about these, and Im of the type that feels crinkle fries belong at the bottom of a volcano because theyre a scourge on humanity, but we both greatly enjoyed these. So simple yet so yummy. Entrees - We ordered 3 entrees, the Spicy Tuna Crunch Wrap, the Sushi Hot Dog and the Sushi Burrito. - The crunch wrap itself could feed 2 people - it was massive, the presentation (cross section) was perfect and the taste - well it was just absolutely amazing with a bit of spicy mayo and eel sauce! The crunch on the outside is spot on. My only negative is the sushi paper is hard to chew through in places so makes it a bit hard to eat but it was absolutely delicious. - The Sushi Burrito looked amazing and was executed flawlessly. The tempura shrimp was cooked perfectly and still crunchy, the ratio of meat to toppings/fillings was perfect and the burrito wrap was done so well that I could actually eat this BETTER than a mexican style burrito! Dipped in some spicy mayo and eel sauce is the way to go on this one. - The Sushi Hot Dog had an amazing flavor and the presentation was exactly what youd expect of a sushi hot dog. Unfortunately we ate this one last so although it was really tasty, it wasnt so amazing that I couldnt stop eating it. So...why the 4 stars? Well, as I mentioned we were celebrating our 12th anniversary at Mt Dora today and as such, I tried to message the store via Facebook yesterday evening to try to arrange something/anything special. Whether a special roll, a rose, something to surprise my wife. Although the restaurant read my message on Facebook, they never bothered responding. I still would have left 5 stars even if they responded and just said sorry, we cant do that or sorry, we dont have any specials but after choosing their location for our celebration, it was a bit frustrating to be left hanging. Would I go again? Probably not. Its a bit overpriced for what it is. Would I recommend anyone who likes sushi try it at least once? Absolutely, it was different/unique enough that everyone should try it once.

Amazing! We get the sushi fries everytime and the salmon poke bowl is the best. Service and atmosphere are always stellar. The only thing Id change is the thermostat; dress for Florida summer.

I ve been here a handful of times - always so exceptional and worth the wait. We ve had (and loved) the mozzarella sticks, sushi fries, sushi hotdog, sushi tacos, and hibachi. Ashley was LOVELY!

This was our second trip out to Mount Dora specifically to visit WAVE! The food never disappoints, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the poke hotdog, crunch wrap (not pictured), crab mozzarella sticks, and sushi fries, but everything we ve tried has been delicious. Thinking of making this an annual trip!

Saturday night, waited an hour to get in, waited in line at the one bathroom for the whole building, waited an hour and half for our food... Now Im just trying to figure out of it was worth it. Waitress was great, gave us salads on the house for the wait. Appetizer was the delicious sushi fries. The sushi was incredibly fresh and a delicious, some of the best fresh tuna Ive ever tasted. I think the food is great, but maybe dont come on a Saturday night like us

Let me just say one thing BEST SUSHI FRIES!!!! They are soooo good. The Oreo tempura is also really good!!! The only thing disappointing about the place is the seating area outside, extremely uncomfortable seats

Great place to go get some unique sushi concepts. The food was very good and our server was excellent. Would of gave it 5 stars however the amount of mango in the mango roll was a little lacking. As well as the sushi fries, the actual fries were kinda old and cold but everything that was on them were very yummy. Id definitely go back if i am ever back in that part of the country.

I ve been to the Wave twice before and love their new space. We got the sushi fries and poke pizza, which are not absolutely delicious. The service was great and I know I ll be back soon.

WAVE is an Asian Bistro that does a contrasting presentation with its Asian fare. WAVE nachos, sushi fries, sushi burgers, sushi burritos, and sushi pizzas shake up the traditional theory of sushi presentation. The service is excellent, as is the food. All items were presented meticulously and the fresh ingredients were obvious. Stacia did a great job at our table and made certain we were taken care of at all times. This is the place for sushi in central Florida, highly recommended. UPDATE: Moved downstairs in the same building; additional indoor seating and the restrooms are now inside

There was a bit of a wait and seating was only outside so in FL heat, in the middle of the day, it was HOT! The food on the other hand, sushi fries were amazing and sushi burger was great.

Everything here is delicious and unique. Try the sushi fries they will not disappoint! We also had the sushi taco with spicy tuna and the burrito which were just amazing. Prices are not bad at all for the quality and their menu is so cool. If you love sushi but want to try something fun and different I highly recommend Wave!

WAVE hit the right spot for sushi lovers like me. They uniquely variety of their menu is a amazing. From the sushi burrito to their sushi donuts it was a great experience to eat here. I will highly recommend to the sushi fries, a taste of incredible flavor. Next time im in Orlando area that will be my spot to go.

This is my second time visiting the place and the food is amazing!!!! I had the spicy Tuna Burger which is awesome!!! Its a sushi style burger and surely enough it was spicy. I also had the sushi fries and had so many flavors that just great. There is different things on the menu like sushi pizza and sushi burritos which I have pictures for. Its a different style sushi that just made people want to look at your food. I will say if you want to sit and enjoy the food there is a wait. But the wait is totally worth it. If you dont want to wait you can do take out which is good for many people. Also if you want to enjoy your day walk around the area. Like I always do when we wait. Check the place out if you want to try a different style sushi lol.

I cant tell you how good this place is. Be warned, the sushi fries are Delicious but HUGE!!!!! The sushi Burger is GIGANTIC and amazing!!!! Amazing food. Great craft beer selection.

Very good and courteous service. The staff was very helpful In suggesting dishes. Very good beef udon, sushi fries and many tasty rolls.
